Midterm Feedback Review/Response
What was working?
- I liked the animation a lot, I thought the ending was really cute. I also thought the joke
- delivery was really good and gave the robot a lot of character.
- I really enjoyed the illustrations and the whole concept of this project! This was a fun
- comedy skit and a lot of the jokes were entertaining. I particularly liked the part about
- your little robot’s crush. The twist at the end with it being an audience of robots was a fun touch, too!
- The animations are so good! Works great together with the script!
- I think the jokes were very fun and normalizes robots having human feelings
- Aesthetic
- The presentation of ideas was very good, the overall art style was really well done despite a few animation issues.
What wasn’t working/needs improvement?
- More detailed animation maybe?
- There are some small edits you can make in Adobe Audition to make your existing
- recording sound a little more robotic. That might be a nice solution too getting a little bit of a robotic sound without making it too distorted.
- There was not a lot of lip syncing, which in my opinion would have worked very well for this project.
- The delivery of the robots jokes could have been better, just a few re-recordings would have made it flow better.
Overall:
I think my project with Ainur was funnier than we intended. The jokes we had for the robot continued from our conversations of misdirection and allowed us to explore human-like qualities that are often overlooked for robots/technology. Next time, Ainur and I will work more on the animations to ensure we don’t have issues moving the gifs from procreate to aftereffects. Lastly, I would search more for audible robot voices or work on putting CC captions with the video.
